MaDe4Rail 2 Consortium took part in the third edition of the Summer International School “The European Railway System”, hosted by Sapienza University of Rome within the framework of the projects funded by Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking: Academics4Rail, PhDs EU-Rail, and SERAS. The initiative provided an important international forum for exchange, bringing together the next generation of professionals and researchers in the European railway sector.
The Summer School represents a significant educational and knowledge-sharing opportunity aimed at fostering knowledge of the European railway system, its technological challenges, and the innovation pathways that will shape the future of sustainable mobility.
During the event, RFI and Ironlev presented the MaDe4Rail 2 – Maglev Derived Systems for Rail 2 project, which is part of Flagship Area 7 of the EU-Rail programme dedicated to exploring new approaches and technologies for the transport systems of the future. The session outlined the project’s objectives, research activities, and potential applications for the evolution of rail transport.
Delivered by Nunzia Leo, Marjorie de Belen, and Camilo Patiño Puerta from RFI, together with Giacomo De Paoli from Ironlev, the presentation focused in particular on the contribution that Maglev-derived solutions can make to the development of increasingly innovative, efficient, and sustainable railway systems.
